The PCA-70x family of programmable hardware accelerators makes it easy to apply field programmable gate array (FPGA) technology to boost the performance of your software-intensive processes. Just plug the PCA card into an available PCI Express^® (PCIe^®) slot in your host computer system, load the device driver provided, and you're ready to develop your own applications.  A simple, intuitive application programming interface (API) allows you to transfer data from the host to the card, process it in FPGA, and return results to the host using the high-speed DMA interface.

Each PCA card contains up to four high-end Virtex^®-7 FPGAs, manufactured by Xilinx, Inc.  Card input/output is fast, using multi-lane PCI Express^® communications, capable of transferring data to and from your host computer at speeds up to 40 Gigabits per second.  All data transfers use direct memory access (DMA) to offload host CPUs .  And processing power is intense.  A single PCA card can execute more than 65x10¹² operations per second (65 Teraops), with a memory read/write bandwidth of 270 Terabits per second.
